Polygon Appoints Ex-Aave Legal Chief and Top NYC Lawyer as Chief Policy Officer
Ryan Wyatt, President of Polygon Labs, today announced the appointment of Rebecca Rettig as its first Chief Policy Officer to lead global policy. In this role, Rebecca will seek to ensure that the web3 community’s interests are represented with policymakers and regulators across the globe.
Prior to joining Polygon Labs, Rebecca served as General Counsel of the Aave Companies where she engaged in significant advocacy work, by championing positive policies for decentralized web3 technology, developing novel theories of regulation for web3 technologies, and meeting with regulators and policymakers across the globe to influence legislation.
Previously, Rebecca was a partner at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP in the financial services group, representing various blockchain and cryptocurrency clients.
She will also be vocal on digital identity matters to continue the company’s advocacy of blockchain-based privacy. Rebecca is based in New York and will report directly to Ryan Wyatt.
